Gogula Aryalingam (MVP) revealed about the new "Spatial Data Types" in his "Heroes Community Launch" presentation on "New Data Types in SQL Server 2008". Since it sounds very interesting, I was eager to observe a practical code example and I found a White Paper from Microsoft.

If all of you are also interested, shall we further explain the implementation of a simple practical example (such as representing the "A grade" road network of Sri Lanka in a database etc.) here?
